Vaset in Valdres is a small natural gem, summer and winter alike. Here you can enjoy fantastic ski terrain in winter. When the snow melts, a landscape perfect for long hikes or excellent hunting grounds reveals itself as autumn creeps in. Right in the middle of these surroundings lies the cabin area of Brakastølen.

Vaset - Brakastølen East in Valdres is beautifully situated high up along the Panorama Road between Valdres and Hemsedal. The area is a natural gem, offering wonderful and varied mountain terrain with a vibrant mountain pasture environment, diverse activities, shops and inviting places to eat. Here you'll find an open and wild landscape with magnificent views towards the rugged Jotunheimen mountains. This is a family-friendly area for wonderful experiences both summer and winter, with miles of excellent cross-country ski trails, a delightful alpine facility, and areas for fishing, hunting, hiking, cycling and other outdoor activities. Vaset is one of the most attractive cabin areas in Valdres, offering exciting activities both summer and winter. Vaset lies in Vestre Slidre municipality and borders Hemsedal, approximately 18 km northwest of the regional centre Fagernes and 200 km from Oslo. The Panorama Road across to Hemsedal provides good access to Vaset, including from the west, while a drive along this legendary road is an experience in itself. The trail network at Vaset covers approximately 120 kilometres, groomed by Vasetløypene SA. The trail association grooms the network with two large trail groomers with a width of 4.5 metres. The groomers create two classic tracks with a skating lane in the middle. The trail network of Vasetløypene ranges from lit trails through spruce forest to trails on the open mountain beyond Gomobu. Here you can enjoy ski tours across gentle plateaus, but also the chance to reach the summit of "Syni" at 1137 metres above sea level. Vaset ski lifts serve 9 slopes of varying difficulty levels. Vaset is a great choice for families with children and those wanting to practice rails or jumps. Vaset lies right in the middle of a paradise for cyclists of all ages and levels. The cycling community in Valdres has grown in recent years, with the Valdres Race and Offroad Valdres offering tough races alongside family-friendly bike rides as part of the national cycling route "Mjølkevegen". From Gomobu, there are dozens of great, marked cycling trails suitable for the whole family

The area is a natural gem characterised by a vibrant mountain pasture environment with grazing animals and varied activities available all year round. The cabin field consists of several smaller cabin clusters in Vestre Slidre municipality, approximately 18 km northwest of Fagernes. In 2020, around 80 new build-ready, high-standard plots were approved and are now offered in this attractive mountain area.
