Diple Kollen Gausta

Diple is located at Kollen in the heart of the Gausta area, with immediate access to the alpine ski resort and direct connection to the new floodlit trail, Svartalsløypa. Kollen offers excellent sun conditions, and many of the properties have sightlines all the way from the tourist cabin atop Gaustatoppen down to the town of Rjukan, and further up towards Hardangervidda. It's a short distance to Bygget (café and après-ski) and Sportellet, as well as Høyfjellshotellet and shops such as Pose & Sekk and Sport1.

From Gaustatoppen you have Norway's largest view, measured by area. Under ideal conditions, the view spans an area of 60,000 km², which corresponds to almost a sixth of mainland Norway's total area. Near the summit lies Gaustatoppen tourist cabin, popularly known as Gaustahytta. The cabin offers simple dining every day during the summer season as well as some weekends in the autumn. The summit is visited by around 80,000 people each year.

Inside Gaustatoppen lies Gaustabanen, a well-kept secret. Gaustabanen was built in the late 1950s and takes passengers 1,040 meters up to Gaustatoppen. Gaustabanen is open on weekends and holidays throughout the year. With Gaustabanen came the opportunity to combine your trip, you can walk one way and take the funicular the other, or take it both ways.
